Hey... any guesses for the term that i am talking about... well it would be something which is most over-rated word in daily life... but then i also think that some of you will not agree with me on this and might turn back to me and say 'Blasphemy'... then again if i would have worried about the accusation, then i would not be writing about it... isn't it..??
Haanji, so i am talking about the word is a Common Noun which by definition is "One who entertains for another person such sentiments of esteem,
respect, and affection that he seeks his society and welfare; a well-wisher"... uhh.. this is not straight enough and not helping... wait i ll another definition which just to mention is taken from Webster's - here it goes... "a person you know well and regard with affection and trust" or vice versa... are u getting the drift or do i still have to elaborate... let's skip it and i ll tell u that the word/point in discussion is Friend aka buddy/ pal/ chum/ and so on (the Common Noun)...
Ideal situation would be that the person covered under this Common Noun should be the one who fulfills the aspects covered by the definition... but do we in regular circumstances find these people or we ignorantly use this term for anybody and everybody...?? This question has been raised in my mind many a times in the past and i have always been incapable of justifying it... because there are surely lots of people that i know and they are definitely not my friends (by the definitions given above)... also i wonder if it is justifiable that those few people that i can count on my fingertips, who i will rely at any given point in time can just merely be called friends (who are also being addressed for the rest of the acquaintances..) Not Fair...!!
Honestly tell me.. can you say all the people in your "Friend Lists"of Facebook, Orkut or any other Social Networking Sites are your friends (by the definition again...)... I will say only the top 10, max 15 people that you speak to on a regular basis can still be wrapped in the Friends Package... the rest my "Friends" are just the acquaintances in various degrees urging to get closer (or trying to get away)...
On this friendly note, take care my dearies... :)
Cheers...!!
